Our Beginnings
It began with two ships
The Jebsen story starts in 1929, when Kristian Stange Jebsen founded Kristian Jebsens Rederi AS (KJR) in Bergen, Norway. Two steamships trading in the North Sea grew, over time, into a business working across international markets and many corners of the shipping industry.
The leadership changed with each generation, but the way the family runs the business did not: honestly, responsibly, and with an eye on the long term.
